Small tent, sleeping mat, head lamp, map case and shirt

Posted by Mick under: Equipment .

Before i head out on my two last trips for the year, i had a few last minute things i needed to get at the inevitable boxing day sale down at the huge Anaconda store. It may appear that I have turned into a gear hog, but i’m actually just replacing some well worn gear that i have had for years…at least thats what i keep telling myself ;)

So this is what i picked up:

A small lightweight (1.1kg) tent made by Black Wolf called a “Cocoon Bivy” (AUD $139.99).

  • Fabric: Polyester Ripstop PU 3000mm, vinyl
  • Capacity: Sleeps 1
  • Colours: Yellow/Black
  • Weight: 1.1 kg
  • Size: 205 x 96 x 50 cm
  • Seams: Heat taped

A Black Diamond Cosmo head lamp (AUD $59.99).

  • Weight: 44 grams without batteries / 80 grams with batteries
  • IPX Rating: 4
  • Battery Power: 3 AAA

No point having a great collection of maps with you on teh trail if it rains and they get all wet, so i grabbed a Sea To Summit Wateproof Map Case (AUD $21.99).

  • Fully waterproof welded roll top case
  • UV stable material (won’t yellow in sun)
  • Adjustable neck webbing strap
  • 28 x 33cm

Finally…you can never have enough good quality shirts, so i picked up a burnt orange coloured Gondwana Singleton long sleeve short (AUD $49.99).

  • Chest pocket with magnet closure
  • Sleeve tabs hold rolled up sleeves
