Fly to Antarctica and back
Posted by Mick under: Antarctica .
Cool…the first passenger flight between Australia and Antarctica touched down in Hobart at 10:15 am this morning after landing at the Wilkins runway (which is located 70 kilometres from Casey Station) earlier in the day. The return flight, in an Airbus 319, takes takes about nine hours.
More info at the the ABC News website and no doubt something will also appear at the Australian Antarctic Division air transport web page shortly as well.
